Accreditation Process:
The National Agency for Quality Assessment and Accreditation (ANECA) is the recognized accreditation body in Spain. ANECA was set up as a public trust on 19 July 2002. The ultimate goal of the Trust is to contribute to the quality improvement of the higher education system through the assessment, certification and accreditation of university degrees, programs, teaching staff and institutions.
In September 2007, ANECA developed a proposal on criteria, guidelines and procedures for accreditation of degree programmers leading to recognized undergraduate and Master's degrees in Spain. The plan was requested by the Spanish Ministry of Education and Science.
