Accreditation Process:
Engineers Ireland is the operating name of The Institution of Engineers of Ireland. In accordance with its Charter and the provisions of the 1969 Charter Amendment Act, Engineers Ireland is empowered to admit to membership, classify and confer
titles on its members to indicate their professional standing and classification or grade. In doing so it has regard to current international practice and the various international agreements it has entered into in promoting the standing and standards of Irish engineering expertise. Engineers Ireland has ensured that engineering and engineering technology programmes it has accredited have wide international recognition.
- Engineering Degree Programmes accredited as leading to Ordinary Membership (MIEI) - Washington Accord.
- Engineering Technology Diploma/Degree Programmes accredited as leading to Associate Membership (AMIEI) - Sydney Accord.
Accredited Degrees include:
- Bachelor of Engineering Technology (BEng Tech) (formerly Technician Diploma)
- Bachelor of Technology (BTech) (formerly Technician Diploma)
- Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) (formerly ND)
