Accreditation Process:
ASIIN is the only German accreditation agency specialised in accrediting degree programs from the fields of engineering, informatics/computer science, the natural sciences and mathematics. ASIIN was founded when a large number of business and industry associations, relevant disciplinary societies and professional associations, as well as Germany's universities joined forces to establish a specialist accreditation agency. This "grand alliance" set itself the common goal of ensuring that the quality standards in degree programmes offered by German universities in engineering and the natural sciences as well informatics/computer science are professionally examined and certified. ASIIN joined the Washington Accord as a provisional member in June 2003.
ASIIN is a non-profit, registered association and was officially accredited by the German Accreditation Council (Akkreditierungsrat) on December 12, 2002. ASIIN is active in the following study fields:

ASIIN has been authorised to award the EUR-ACE®-Label (for engineering Bachelor or Master degree programmes) in addition to its own accreditation certificate if accredited programmes fulfill the standards associated with these labels.
