Accreditation Process:
The Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) established a higher education reform strategy that has been translated into twenty five distinct projects addressing the diverse areas of reform (February 2000). The Quality Assurance and Accreditation project (QAAP) is one of the six priority projects directed towards the improvement f quality, efficiency and relevance of higher education in Egypt. As this project cnstitutes one of the main cornerstones of the Egyptian higher education reform strategy, a national committee was formed in October 2001 to pave the way for quality assurance and accreditation of higher education institutions and academic programs.
A distinction is made in Egypt between two different engineering degrees: The Bachelors Degree which is a five year program, and another two year program offered by technical college.
